The sessions will be focused on the mechanisms of deformation and fracture in interface dominated metallic materials and will mix theorical, experimental and/or modelling contributions to allow cross fertilization. By interface dominated metallic materials, we have in mind systems like ultrafine grained, nanocrystalline, nanotwinned, thin films, nanowires, multilayers, fine multiphase and composites metallic system possibly involving hybrid combinations with polymer, glasses and ceramics.
